Plumbing Services in Salt Lake City

Plumber in Salt Lake City, UT - Plumbing, Drain Cleaning & Water Cleanup

  • Home
  • Locations
  • Utah
  • Salt Lake City

Roto-Rooter provides residential and commercial plumbing service throughout Salt Lake City and nearby communities, including Millcreek, South Salt Lake, West Valley City, Kearns, and Sandy. Whether a homeowner needs routine drain cleaning or help with a sewer line issue, technicians arrive ready to diagnose the problem and complete the repair.

Services available in Salt Lake City include:

  • Hydro jetting and drain cleaning
  • Water softener installation
  • Preventive maintenance programs
  • Faucet and toilet repair
  • Sewer line cleaning and repair
  • Water heater repair and installation
  • Pipe repair and leak detection

Hydro jetting uses high pressure water to clear a drain or sewer line from the inside out, removing grease, soap buildup, and debris that a standard snake often leaves behind. It is typically recommended when a line backs up repeatedly or when a camera inspection shows buildup along the pipe walls rather than a single blockage.

Coverage Across the Salt Lake Valley

The type of plumbing call often depends on where a home sits in the valley. Older homes near downtown Salt Lake City and in nearby Bountiful and Centerville often need updated drain lines or fixture replacements, while newer construction in West Jordan, South Jordan, and Saratoga Springs tends to bring plumbing work tied to remodels and additions.

Scheduling Service in Salt Lake City

Roto-Rooter is pleased to offer coupons and discounts, including special offers for seniors and military personnel.

Our Services in Salt Lake City

Once an appointment is set, a Roto-Rooter technician arrives in a fully equipped service vehicle, ready to diagnose the problem and resolve most issues on the first visit. Coverage includes everything from routine drain cleaning to sewer line repair, water heater service, and leak detection throughout Salt Lake City and nearby Woods Cross and North Salt Lake.

A typical visit starts with a diagnostic check, often including a camera inspection for drain or sewer concerns, so the technician can confirm the cause before recommending a repair. Common calls include a toilet that will not stop running, a water heater that no longer produces hot water, and a kitchen or bathroom drain that clogs repeatedly despite regular cleaning.

Call 385-200-3053 or schedule service online for plumbing service in Salt Lake City.

Not every plumbing problem can wait for a scheduled appointment. Burst pipes, sewage backups, and major water leaks can cause significant damage within minutes, and Roto-Rooter operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year in Salt Lake City and surrounding communities such as Millcreek, Kearns, and Magna.

Scheduling Service in Salt Lake City

When you call 385-200-3053, a live representative connects you with a technician who can typically arrive within hours. Service vehicles carry the parts and equipment needed for most emergency repairs, so the problem is often resolved in a single visit. While waiting, shutting off the main water supply valve can limit damage from a burst pipe or major leak, and clearing the area around the affected fixture lets the technician begin work as soon as they arrive.

I had a flood in my basement and Adam came out within a half hour of me calling to clear the drain. He did an amazing job and was fantastic ... to work with. I currently have Saia at my house doing the all of the water mitigation work. Both of these guys have been complete class acts. Thanks for all of the help fellas!

Chris did a fantastic job...on time and very efficient in carrying out a fairly big job including excavation to the main for a broken clay sewer line. We definitely recommend ... Roto-Rooter at Newman Lake Washington.

On March 21 and 22, Jeff Isaacs (supervisor) accompanied Ken (Service Technician ) on a call to my house to clear an outside drain pipe. The job was physically demanding ... and the conditions were uncomfortable, with cold temperatures and light rain and snow. Both men were outstanding throughout the job: they were persistent, good-humored, thorough, and respectful, As a retired manager I've had extensive personnel experience, and on the basis of this experience I recommend that Roto-Rooter do whatever it can to retain these 2 men. They are outstanding representatives of the company.

David came and serviced our sewer line and he was outstanding! He listened and gave great feedback and made sure I understood what was happening with the line. He went ... the extra mile! Great customer service! THANK YOU!!!

Callie N.

They replaced my water line in less than a day!

Service was fast and efficient. The tech was very polite and got the job done

After trying to figure out the best course of action, the 2 plumbers completed the job quickly and checked to see if they had cleaned up well which they did. ... It was good to get outstanding, prompt service which is the reason why I continue to call them for time sensitive jobs.

Bert U.

Amazing service, friendly and knowledgeable technician.

Max N.

Very professional and proficient. Very happy with the great service.

Vili T.

This was an urgent situation and Roto-Rooter was there to help immediately. The two men who originally came out to my house were professional, courteous, and obviously knew what they ... were doing. I won't hesitate to use Roto-Rooter in the future.

Everyone was kind, professional, knowledgeable, and clean. They saved our bacon and we appreciate it.

Josh, Jon & Ron did excellent work and cleaned my home's main drains and sewer line of tree roots and debris. Made helpful recommendations. Very professional ! ... Would gladly recommend them and Roto-Rooter as a company. Thank you !

I was very impressed with the service received today to clear out my main drain line. It was a messy job and Nick and his partner did an outstanding ... job and provided me with excellent customer service. Nick encouraged me to get my drain line camera-ed so that I would know what the issues I have are. Ron came and did that work and gave me excellent advice to have my drain line descaled first before digging it up and replacing it. I appreciate this advice and plan to follow that course of action. I was very happy with the overall experience. Thanks very much.

I appreciate this advice and plan to follow that course of action. I was very happy with the overall experience. Thanks very much.

I tried reaching out to two different 24 hour plumbing services in my area. One said they weren't "dispatching anyone" and the other said they'd have a ... technician call me. They never called. However once I called Roto-Rooter I got a helpful individual to answer the phone. They had a plumber to my house within 45 minutes. In fact the plumber got to my house so quickly I was still out picking up some breakfast when they arrived. The job was done quickly and efficiently and the work was guaranteed for six months. The plumber was professional. They accepted a coupon saving me $75. All in all I was very satisfied with the response and service.

I really can't believe I am writing a comment about my plugged toilet. But, I am. The two men who came to my house on Sunday (when both of ... my toilets were clogged), were wonderful. They were incredibly respectful, yet had a great sense of humor (something we all need right now). After checking everything out, they gave me a bid (we are talking about having to have my pipes replaced (out into the middle of 13th South ): We are talkin' a lot of money. What they didn't know is that I had had another company over earlier in the morning, and their bid was significantly higher (plus, they weren't as nice). So, I am going with Shawn and Don from Roto-Rooter. Thanks, guys! Diane

Worlen did a good job of cleaning our standing drain in a quick and proficient manner. He was congenial and knowledgeable. Thanks for a quick response to our phone call!

Mark gladly showed up on Friday evening, at an hour most other business would be closed for the weekend. This saved me several days of hassle. He was ... friendly, prepared, and did a thorough job. Excellent visit.

Technician worked through the problem and fixed it as well as kept me informed through out the process.

Shellie T.

Sean did a good job of fixing our plumbing problems and kept me informed throughout the process.

Great job - quick, thorough, and friendly.

Common Plumbing Challenges in Salt Lake City

Knowing these warning signs in advance can help Salt Lake City homeowners act before a routine issue turns into one of the emergencies described above. These are the calls Roto-Rooter sees most often locally, along with the likely cause and the first step to take.

  • Water backs up into a nearby drain or tub when you flush. This usually points to a sewer line blockage, often from tree root intrusion. Schedule a camera inspection before running more water through the line.
  • A drain runs slower every week despite regular cleaning. Grease, hair, and soap buildup is narrowing the pipe. Have the line hydro jetted rather than snaked repeatedly.
  • Rumbling sounds or rust colored water from the water heater. The tank is likely nearing the end of its service life. Have the unit inspected before it fails completely.
  • A basement floor is damp after ordinary rain, not just heavy storms. A sump pump may not be keeping up, or the backup battery is failing. Test the pump and backup battery, or have both inspected.
  • Water pressure drops at one or two fixtures, not the whole house. Corrosion is narrowing an aging supply line to that fixture. Ask for an inspection to confirm whether a targeted repair or a repipe is needed.

Tree root intrusion is common in older neighborhoods where mature trees line the streets, including in Salt Lake City proper and nearby Bountiful and Centerville. A camera inspection pinpoints whether roots, a collapsed section of pipe, or a simple clog is behind a backup before any digging starts.

Common Plumbing Challenges in Salt Lake City

A camera inspection pinpoints whether roots, a collapsed section of pipe, or a simple clog is behind a backup before any digging starts.

Homes with basements in Salt Lake City, South Salt Lake, and Woods Cross depend on a working sump pump, and a unit that has not been tested in months is the most common reason a basement floods.

Water heaters typically last eight to twelve years, and homeowners in West Valley City, Sandy, and Grantsville who notice any of the signs above should have the unit inspected rather than wait for a full failure.

What are the most common plumbing problems in Salt Lake City?

Utah's mineral-heavy water supply causes significant scale buildup in Salt Lake City pipes and water heaters. Winter freeze-thaw cycles can burst pipes, especially in unheated areas, and the region's alkaline soil can be tough on underground lines.

Why Salt Lake City Homeowners Trust Roto-Rooter

Roto-Rooter has built its reputation nationwide since 1935 on showing up, diagnosing the actual problem, and fixing it correctly the first time rather than guessing at a quick patch.

Every visit ends the same way: the technician walks through what was found, what was repaired, and what to watch for going forward, so nothing about the job is left unexplained. If a repair covered by the warranty needs a follow-up visit, Roto-Rooter comes back and makes it right.

Roto-Rooter also serves smaller communities around Salt Lake City, including Tooele, Spanish Fork, Springville, Pleasant Grove, Lehi, and Heber City. Homeowners in these communities get the same walk-through, the same warranty, and the same follow-up if something needs a second look, regardless of how far the call is from downtown Salt Lake City.
