If you ask Zoom Drain Austin owner Daniel Mays what drives him, he’ll tell you he thrives whenever he’s pushed outside his comfort zone. It’s how he conquered a fear of heights to scale the Grand Teton Mountains, and it’s the exact same mindset he brings to running Austin’s premier drain and sewer service.
A Texas native who grew up in San Antonio and Dallas, Daniel spent years living out of a suitcase as a remote automation engineer. While he loved solving complex tech problems for major financial and automotive brands, he missed having a place to call home. A recent trip to Texas' capital changed everything.
Now, the Vanderbilt Engineering alumnus is trading the corporate suitcase for local roots right here in Austin.
"Working remotely kept me on the move for over a year," Daniel shares. "To finally have a rooted home base where I can build a business, lead a team, and serve my neighbors is incredibly exciting."
Daniel is bringing his background in engineering science and process automation to the trades. For Austin residents, that means a drain and sewer service that runs like clockwork.
"I love the idea of building a team culture that feels like a family," says Daniel. "Our mission is simple: we’re going to show up on time, provide seamless service, and make sure Austin knows they are in good hands."
